Hi! My name is Rachel Shine and I was born in Long Beach California where I lived until I was 13. Living in Long Beach gave me a good sense of reality, street smarts, and most of all, a different perspective on fashion, and life style. I moved from southern California in 6th grade to a very small, quaint town called Carmel in northern California. Growing up in Carmel gave me an appreciation for natural beauty, and a love for nature. While Carmel was a beautiful and safe environment to live in, I always had a taste for a faster pace, and less conservative life style that Southern California had to offer.
I moved back to Long Beach at the beginning of Sophomore year in high school, and decided to continue my education in homeschool junior year where I had a chance to work, finish school, and develop relationships outside of high school. I have always been wise for my years, and felt that I was on a different page than kids my same age.
Soon after graduating, I moved out on my own at the age of 19, and began modeling on the side while also working various jobs in my area.
I started modeling through making connections in the night life network since I was go-go dancing consistantly every weekend, and I was able to use the new found social networking websites that have launched so many other modeling careers in the past. Each experience led me to more new experiences that helped create the modeling career I have today. I always thought of modeling as a fun hobby I did on the side, and never imagined I could make it my full time job.
I now live in Newport Beach California, and continue to hold good relationships with past modeling agencies, photographers, and companies I've worked for.
Today I'm going to school, and model fulltime. I am majoring in Psychology where I plan to stay in the modeling industry by helping other models with any hang ups they may have, and offer real advice from my personal experiences in the industry. I decided to live the dream without any regrets. After all, your only young once right?
